Yuki Bhambri and Robert Galloway Progress in Wimbledon
On July 6, 2025, at the Wimbledon Grand Slam in London, India's Yuki Bhambri teamed up with American Robert Galloway to reach the third round of the men's doubles competition.
Facing off against Portugal's Nuno Borges and America's Marcos Giron at the All England Club, the 16th-seeded duo took control by converting a breakpoint during the eighth game of the first set, as reported by a sports outlet.
Despite losing their serve early in the second set, Bhambri and Galloway managed to break back when their opponents were serving for the set.
They ultimately triumphed in the tiebreak, winning the match with scores of 6-3, 7(8)-6(6), thus moving on to the next stage.
In addition to his doubles success, Yuki Bhambri is also competing in the mixed doubles event, where he and partner Jiang Xinyu from China won their first match and are set to play again on Sunday.
In contrast, Rithvik Bollipalli and his Colombian partner Nicolas Barrientos were eliminated in the second round after a defeat against British players Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski.
Facing the sixth seeds, Bollipalli and Barrientos lost a service game early and missed three set points in a tense second-set tiebreak, finishing with scores of 6-4, 7(9)-6(7).
Additionally, India's N Sriram Balaji and his Mexican partner Miguel Reyes-Varela also exited in the second round, losing 6-4, 6-4 to the fourth-seeded duo of Horacio Zeballos from Argentina and Marcel Granollers from Spain.
Rohan Bopanna faced an early exit as well, teaming with Belgian Sander Gille but falling in the first round of the men's doubles.
Currently, Yuki Bhambri stands as the sole Indian player remaining in this prestigious Grand Slam event.
