Yashasvi Jaiswal's Missed Catch Haunts India in Test Against England

India's Struggles on Day 5 of the First Test

India faced a significant challenge in breaking England's strong opening partnership during the fifth day of the first Test at Headingley, Leeds, particularly after Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped a crucial catch.

In the 39th over, Mohammed Siraj delivered a short ball to Ben Duckett, who attempted a pull shot but top-edged it towards deep backward square-leg. Jaiswal sprinted in and dived forward, managing to get both hands on the ball but ultimately failing to secure the catch. Although it was a challenging opportunity, it was one that should have been taken at this level.

Siraj's frustration was evident as he reacted immediately to the dropped catch, while Gautam Gambhir, watching from the dressing room, maintained a stoic expression.

England's opening batsmen continued to excel, establishing a record partnership of 181 runs, which stands as the highest opening partnership in the fourth innings of a Test match played in England.
