Yash Dayal Faces FIR Over Allegations of Sexual Harassment

FIR Filed Against RCB Pacer Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal, a prominent fast bowler for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, is currently facing legal issues following an FIR filed by a woman from Ghaziabad. She claims to have been in a romantic relationship with him for several years. The FIR was registered under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Indirapuram police station after a preliminary inquiry was initiated based on a complaint submitted through the Chief Minister's grievance portal.

Section 69 of the BNS addresses sexual offenses that involve deceit, particularly when the victim is misled by false promises of marriage or employment. Such actions are classified as aggravated fraud and can lead to a prison sentence of up to ten years. The woman alleges that during their five-year relationship, she endured emotional, physical, and financial abuse.

The complainant asserts that Dayal presented her to his family and often portrayed himself as her husband in social situations, which reinforced her belief in their future together. However, tensions escalated when she sought clarification regarding marriage, leading to aggressive responses and ongoing harassment from Dayal.

Evidence Submitted; Player Yet to Respond Publicly

The woman further accused Dayal of borrowing money from her throughout their relationship. She claims to possess various forms of digital evidence, including chat transcripts, call logs, video recordings, and photographs, to substantiate her allegations. Additionally, she suspects that Dayal may have engaged in similar behavior with other women.

Currently, neither Dayal nor his family has issued an official statement regarding the allegations. The Ghaziabad police have confirmed that the investigation is still in its initial phases, and further actions will be determined based on the evidence collected.

At 26 years old, Dayal was a key player in RCB's historic title-winning campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where he took 13 wickets, including vital performances in the death overs. His impressive play earned him a call-up to the Indian national team last year for a series against Bangladesh, although he has yet to make his international debut.

This situation poses a significant reputational challenge for both Dayal and his franchise as they prepare for the upcoming domestic season.
