In a surprising turn of events, a title match originally slated for Summerslam has been moved up to the upcoming WWE Smackdown episode. This change comes as a result of a notable return, aligning a mid-card women's champion with the returning star.

During a backstage segment on the July 25 episode of WWE Smackdown, Zelina Vega confronted WWE Women’s United States Champion Giulia, seeking a chance to compete for the title. Vega was interrupted by Kiana James, who introduced herself as the official representative of the United States Champion, marking her return after nearly a year away from the ring.

Vega dismissed James, labeling her a 'clipboard Karen' and insisted on discussing the title rematch directly with Giulia. James responded by stating that she had already coordinated with WWE Smackdown's general manager, Nick Aldis, confirming that their rematch is set to occur next week, just before the first night of SummerSlam.

Last month, Giulia claimed the women’s US title from Vega during the go-home episode of Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, marking her first championship win since joining the main roster. In the previous week’s episode, she was seen conversing with James.
