Exciting Matches Announced for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Next weekend, WWE will revive its quarterly special, Saturday Night’s Main Event, on the NBC Network for the second time this year. The Undisputed WWE Champion, John Cena, is set to compete against R-Truth, a long-time supporter.

This match was officially confirmed during the latest episode of Friday Night Smackdown, where it was noted that it would be a non-title bout. The match stems from events that unfolded during the recent Backlash premium live event, where R-Truth assisted Cena in defeating Randy Orton, only to be put through a table by Cena during the post-show press conference.

In a recent interview with Wade Barrett aired on SmackDown, R-Truth expressed his belief that Cena won the match against Orton independently and stated that he trusts Cena will not betray those who have supported him. Although Truth does not wish to defeat Cena, he is determined to make a statement at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Additionally, a video aired on Friday featuring Damian Priest, who expressed his desire to resolve his ongoing issues with Drew McIntyre. He challenged McIntyre to a steel cage match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

McIntyre responded during his own promo on SmackDown, accepting the challenge and declaring that only one of them would leave the cage, while the other would be taken out on a stretcher.

WWE, in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Sports Commission and Vinik Sports Group, has announced a Memorial Day weekend takeover at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. The events include Saturday Night’s Main Event (May 24), NXT Battleground 2025 (May 25), Monday Night Raw (May 26), and NXT (May 27). The match card for the first event is as follows:
