Saha's Confidence in the Strikers

Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], June 13: Despite facing setbacks in their initial matches, former Indian and Bengal wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha, now serving as a mentor for the Servotech Siliguri Strikers in the second season of the Bengal Pro T20 League, remains optimistic about the team's potential.


The women's team of the Siliguri Strikers suffered an 8-wicket defeat, while the men's team lost by four wickets against the Adams Howrah Warriors.


Even without securing wins, the Servotech Siliguri Strikers demonstrated remarkable spirit and resilience, suggesting they are ready to tackle upcoming challenges.


“Although the outcomes of our first matches weren't favorable, the commitment and determination shown by the team have been exceptional. We've put in significant effort as a group, and the positive energy during training, strong camaraderie, and eagerness to improve give me complete faith that the Servotech Siliguri Strikers will rise to the occasion and reveal our true capabilities as the tournament unfolds,” Saha expressed after the match.


Having played 40 Tests, 9 ODIs, and 255 T20s, Saha is mentoring both the men's and women's teams while also advising Servotech Sports on talent development. His expertise will be crucial as the Servotech Siliguri Strikers aim to advance further in this season.


Earlier this month, the Servotech Siliguri Strikers held a successful open cricket trial in Kolkata, which turned out to be a significant talent search event. The initiative attracted a large number of aspiring cricketers from North Bengal, with hundreds of young talents eager to showcase their abilities and pursue their cricketing aspirations.


Nine male and two female players were selected to train and participate in net sessions with the Siliguri Strikers during the upcoming Season 2 of the Bengal Pro T20 League in June 2025.
