Wriddhiman Saha Joins Servotech Sports as Mentor for Upcoming Tennis Cricket Ball Tournaments
Saha's New Role and Upcoming Tournaments
In New Delhi, former Indian wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha has taken on the role of mentor for the Servotech Sports team. He believes that the forthcoming Tennis Cricket Ball World Cup and Asia Cup, set to be held in India for the first time, will significantly enhance the competitive landscape and inspire players to reach new heights.
Earlier this month, Saha was named the mentor for the Servotech Siliguri Strikers as they prepare for Season 2 of the Bengal Pro T20 League. Servotech Sports recently introduced the Dream League of India, a unique Tennis Cricket Ball League, in May 2025.
Aligned with the Dream League of India, the Tennis Cricket Ball World Cup and Asia Cup will be hosted in India, marking a historic moment as the first global and continental tournaments exclusively featuring tennis balls.
Expressing his enthusiasm about this initiative, Saha reflected on how every aspiring cricketer, including himself, began their journey with a tennis ball.
He stated, "This is my first coaching or mentorship role with Servotech Sports. Most players start their cricketing journey with a tennis ball. The Tennis Cricket Ball League is accessible to everyone, which is a significant advantage."
Saha emphasized the importance of this platform, saying, "For players wanting to showcase their skills in the tennis ball league, this is a fantastic opportunity. It’s a great platform for them."
He believes that the Tennis Cricket Ball World Cup and Asia Cup will elevate the level of competition and provide much-needed recognition for players involved in tennis ball cricket.
Saha remarked, "These tournaments will foster competitiveness and motivate players, making it a commendable initiative."
Participants in the Dream League of India will have the opportunity to represent India in the upcoming Tennis Cricket Ball World Cup and Asia Cup.
Chetanya Nanda, a strategist for the Dream League of India, mentioned that scouts will be closely monitoring the tournament, which will take place nationwide, to select players for the international competitions.
The Dream League of India will cater to both junior (ages 13-18) and senior (ages 18+) categories, featuring six franchises in each. Players interested in joining can register on the league's official website or the Starzpit App for open trials conducted under the guidance of over 1,500 certified coaches.
The primary goal of the Dream League of India is to discover and nurture promising grassroots talent within the tennis cricket community. Top performers will gain exposure to national and possibly international opportunities through partnerships with the International Tennis Cricket Federation (ITCF).
For the Dream League of India, 860 junior and 860 senior players will be selected for the auction, where six franchises in each category will form their teams.
Players chosen from the trials will participate in the auction, with top performers having the chance to be scouted by ITCF selectors to represent India in tennis cricket on a larger stage.
Additionally, players who remain unsold in the Dream League India auction will compete in the country's largest Inter-Zonal Tournament, where standout performers will earn a platinum card to qualify for Season 2 of DLI. Zonal champions will then advance to an All-Zonal Championship, with the winning team facing the Season 1 Franchise Champion in the Season 2 opener, ensuring every player has a pathway to recognition and national success.
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has been appointed as the League Commissioner for the Dream League of India, with acclaimed music icon Salim Merchant joining as one of the six celebrity ambassadors.
