Wrestling Star Xavier Woods Bids Emotional Farewell to WWE
Xavier Woods Announces Departure from WWE
New Delhi [India], May 5: Wrestling icon Xavier Woods has officially announced his exit from WWE in a heartfelt message shared on X, reflecting on his remarkable 16-year tenure with the organization and expressing gratitude for the unforgettable experiences he has had.
Woods, who will now be known by his real name, Austin Creed, fondly recalled the milestones and relationships he developed during his successful career.
“WWE has been my home for the past 16 years. It’s where I grew, discovered myself, faced failures, learned valuable lessons, and lived out dreams that my younger self could only imagine,” Woods stated in his farewell note.
He reminisced about his early days, sharing how he first entered WWE's developmental territory, FCW, with the ambition to prove his capabilities.
“When I stepped into FCW, my goal was to earn my place and introduce something unique to professional wrestling. That opportunity led to a lifetime of memories I will cherish forever—WrestleMania, championships, King of the Ring, performing in arenas worldwide, and the joy of connecting with all of you by being true to myself,” he added.
Woods highlighted the special bond he formed with his New Day teammates, Kofi Kingston and Big E, as one of the most treasured aspects of his WWE journey.
“The New Day forged a connection with @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE that I will hold dear for life. You believed in us, even when our ideas were unconventional, and because of that, we demonstrated that being unapologetically yourself is a strength,” he expressed.
He also took pride in his involvement in the creation of UpUpDownDown, a beloved gaming channel that became a space for joy, camaraderie, and authenticity.
“UpUpDownDown was another extension of that mission: a hub for joy, friendship, and humanity. I am incredibly grateful to everyone, past and present, who contributed to building it brick by brick,” Woods shared.
Woods acknowledged the hard work of those behind the scenes at WWE, thanking the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, and everyone who played a role in his journey.
“To the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, camera teams, ring crew, and everyone behind the scenes, thank you. WWE has the most dedicated and talented props department you will ever find. I love you all, and none of this would have been possible without you,” he stated.
In closing, Woods reflected on the support he received throughout his career and his transition to Austin Creed.
“To everyone who has been part of this journey: thank you for believing in me. Thank you for allowing me to be Xavier Woods. Thank you for giving me the confidence to step away as Austin Creed,” he concluded.
