Exciting Prize Money for the World Test Championship Final

From June 11 to June 15, the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in England will host the final match of the World Test Championship between South Africa and Australia. The victorious team will receive a substantial cash prize, while both the runner-up and the Indian team will also benefit financially.

Although Team India did not qualify for the World Test Championship final, they are set to receive a significant monetary reward from the ICC. The amount is expected to be nearly equivalent to what the champions received in 2021 and 2023. This increase is due to the ICC nearly doubling the prize pool for the WTC. As the third-placed team, India will earn approximately $1.44 million, which is around ₹12.32 crores. In the previous two finals, India, as the runner-up, received only $800,000 each time.

The winning team of this year's final will be awarded $3.6 million, which is significantly higher than the amounts given to the champions of 2021 and 2023, New Zealand and Australia, respectively.

The team finishing as the runner-up this time will receive $2.16 million, surpassing the prize money awarded to the previous champions. In 2023, Australia and in 2021, New Zealand each received $1.6 million for winning the WTC title. India faced defeats in both finals, earning $800,000 each time.

This time, the Indian team, finishing third, will receive $1.44 million, which translates to approximately ₹12.32 crores.
