Excitement Builds for WCL Season 2

New Delhi, July 7: Following the remarkable success of its inaugural season, the World Championship of Legends (WCL) is set to launch its much-anticipated Season 2. All eyes are on the defending champions, Team India Champions, who will once again be captained by cricket legend Yuvraj Singh, as announced in a recent release from WCL.


Co-owned by Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn, the WCL promises intense competition among six iconic cricketing nations: India, Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, and the West Indies. Each nation will field teams filled with cricketing greats.


Yuvraj Singh expressed his enthusiasm for the league, stating, “It’s incredible to witness how WCL has evolved into a platform that resonates with cricket enthusiasts globally. I’m thrilled to return to the field, playing the sport I cherish alongside some of the greatest legends. Team India Champions represents more than just a team; it embodies a legacy. WCL is not merely another cricket tournament; it’s a grand celebration that unites legendary players, reigniting the passion for the game and reminding everyone why they fell in love with cricket. With the talent and spirit of this team, we are determined to bring the trophy home once more.”


After a thrilling victory last year, Team India Champions is back, stronger than ever. The squad welcomes Shikhar Dhawan, adding to a lineup of match-winners and fan favorites.


This season’s team combines experience, strength, and style, featuring veterans like Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, and Robin Uthappa, making it one of the most formidable lineups. Other team members include Yusuf Pathan, Ambati Rayudu, Stuart Binny, Gurkeerat Mann, Siddharth Kaul, Abhimanyu Mithun, Vinay Kumar, Varun Aaron, Piyush Chawla, and Pawan Negi.


The season kicks off on July 18 in Edgbaston, with India’s first match scheduled for July 20. Matches will take place across four cities in the UK: Edgbaston in Birmingham, Headingley in Leeds, and the county grounds in Northampton and Leicester.
