Will Jacks Returns to Mumbai Indians: What This Means for IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians Get a Boost with Jacks' Return
New Delhi: The Mumbai Indians have received a significant boost as Will Jacks from England has confirmed his return for the IPL 2025 season via an Instagram post, showcasing his boarding pass on a flight back to India.
In his Instagram story, Jacks included a photo of his boarding pass along with an Indian flag emoji and a back arrow, signaling his excitement.
Jacks has been a key player for MI, participating in 11 out of their first 12 matches, where he scored 195 runs in nine innings and took five wickets with his off-spin bowling. His contributions have been crucial, earning him Player-of-the-Match accolades in vital victories against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants, highlighting his role as a reliable all-rounder.

While Jacks is back in India for the final two group-stage matches, his participation in the later stages of the tournament remains uncertain due to his selection in England's limited-overs squad for the upcoming series against the West Indies, which coincides with the IPL knockout rounds.
The 25-year-old's return alleviates concerns regarding his availability after several foreign players were sent home amid escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan earlier this month.
The IPL faced a temporary suspension following an airstrike alert that resulted in the cancellation of the May 8 match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamsala, leading to uncertainty about the availability of international players.
As the World Test Championship final approaches on June 11, several prominent players from Australia and South Africa, including Mitchell Starc and Jake Fraser-McGurk, have opted out of the remaining IPL matches.
The IPL 2025 season is set to resume on Saturday, with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru facing off against the Kolkata Knight Riders at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
