Mumbai: Arjun Tendulkar, the son of cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar, is preparing to marry Saaniya Chandhok, a qualified veterinary technician and entrepreneur, on March 5 this year.

Sources have revealed that Arjun, who recently transitioned from the Mumbai Indians to the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL), will celebrate his wedding starting March 3 in Mumbai. The event is expected to be a private gathering with only close family and friends in attendance.

Reports indicate that the couple got engaged last August in a small ceremony with only their nearest and dearest present. The wedding festivities are set to kick off on March 3.

Saaniya is a successful businesswoman and the granddaughter of prominent Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai.

Arjun has made a name for himself in domestic cricket, evolving from his early days in Mumbai to becoming a key bowling all-rounder for Goa. As a tall left-arm fast bowler and a competent lower-order batsman, he debuted in the Ranji Trophy for Goa in 2022, impressively scoring a century in his first-class debut, mirroring his father's achievement.

In 2021, Arjun was acquired by the Mumbai Indians during the IPL auction for his base price of Rs 20 lakh, but an injury sidelined him that season, leading to Simarjeet Singh stepping in as his replacement.

The Mumbai Indians secured Arjun again at the IPL 2022 auction for Rs 30 lakh. He made his IPL debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2023, claiming his first wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by dismissing Bhuvneshwar Kumar, contributing to a narrow 14-run victory for his team.

During IPL 2023, Arjun took two additional wickets and has been retained by the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming 2024 season.
