A Memorable Visit to the Indian High Commission

New Delhi: On Tuesday, the Indian men's cricket team made a notable visit to the Indian High Commission in London. During this visit, captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir presented signed cricket bats to Vikram Doraiswami, the Indian High Commissioner to the UK, and Sujit Ghosh, the Deputy High Commissioner.


Captain Shubman Gill handed over a signed bat to High Commissioner Vikram Doraiswami, while head coach Gautam Gambhir presented another signed bat to Deputy High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh.


The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared highlights from the visit on social media, stating, “The Indian cricket team captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir presented signed cricket bats to Honourable High Commissioner Mr. Vikram Doraiswami and Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Sujit Ghosh respectively.”



During the event, Gambhir spoke about the historical context of matches between India and England, emphasizing the significance of the ongoing series. He remarked, “Touring this part of the world has always been both thrilling and challenging due to the rich history between our nations, which is unforgettable. We have greatly appreciated the support we receive each time we visit the UK.”


He continued, “The past five weeks have been exhilarating for both teams. I believe the cricket displayed has made every fan proud. Both sides have fought hard for every run. We have one more week ahead of us, one last chance to make our nation proud. Jai Hind!”


The five-match series currently sees England leading 2-1, heading into a crucial phase after a remarkable partnership of 203 runs between Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar for the fifth wicket in the second innings of the fourth Test, which ended in a draw at Old Trafford, Manchester.


The final Test is set to commence at The Oval in London on Thursday.
