West Indies Secures Series Win Against Pakistan

In a commanding display, the West Indies triumphed over Pakistan in the third and final ODI held in Trinidad, winning by 202 runs and clinching the series 2-1. This victory marks their first home series win against Pakistan in 36 years.

Pakistan, chasing a target of 295 runs, faced a dramatic collapse, getting bowled out for just 92 runs in 29.2 overs. The batting lineup struggled to form any partnerships, with wickets falling consistently throughout their innings.

A shocking aspect of the match was that five Pakistani players, including Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Mohammad Rizwan, and Abrar Ahmed, were dismissed without scoring. The only notable performance came from Salman Ali Agha, who managed to score 30 runs but lacked support from his teammates.

Babar Azam, the star batter for Pakistan, continued to struggle, scoring only 9 runs. This performance adds to his concerning streak of 72 international innings without a century, raising alarms about his form across formats.

For the West Indies, Jayden Seales was exceptional, taking six wickets for just 18 runs in 7.2 overs, showcasing an impressive economy rate of 2.45.

Earlier, West Indies captain Shai Hope played a pivotal role, scoring 120 runs off 125 balls, which included 10 fours and 5 sixes. His innings was instrumental in guiding the team to a total of 294/6 in their 50 overs. This win is significant for West Indies cricket, marking their first home ODI series victory against Pakistan since 1988 and their first bilateral ODI series win against them since 1991.
