Iconic West Indies Players Reunite
New Delhi [India] - On June 18, three legendary figures from West Indies cricket, Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, and Dwayne Bravo, have reunited to don the maroon colors once more as part of the West Indies Champions team.
The squad also includes a stellar lineup featuring Sheldon Cottrell, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Shannon Gabriel, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, promising an exhilarating tournament ahead.
Chris Gayle, known as the Universe Boss and returning as captain for the 2025 season, expressed his excitement in a press release from the WCL, stating, “I assured the fans last year that this season would be even better, and here we are. I’m back leading the West Indies Champions alongside my brothers Bravo and Pollard. With this team, expect nothing short of fireworks. West Indies cricket is in our blood—we’re here to win.”
Dwayne Bravo, celebrated as one of the greatest all-rounders in T20 history with 631 wickets in 582 matches, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s fantastic to represent the West Indies again—I’m thrilled to play alongside and against my good friends and cricketing legends. Polly and I have been friends for a long time, and now we’re back representing our nation in the World Championship of Legends.”
Kieron Pollard, a former captain and one of the most formidable T20 batsmen globally, remarked, “Having played together for many years for West Indies and in franchise cricket, it’s wonderful to do so again. Returning to wear the colors of West Indies Champions and compete with legends is an opportunity I couldn’t miss.”
