Akram's Insights on the Upcoming Final

Wasim Akram, the legendary cricketer from Pakistan, has expressed his belief that India holds the upper hand in the Asia Cup final. However, he emphasized the importance of Salman Agha's team maintaining their confidence and momentum following their recent victory over Bangladesh in the Super 4s.

Pakistan successfully defended a modest score of 136 against Bangladesh on Thursday, securing their place in the final against India.

During a recent press interaction, Akram stated, “I hope Pakistan’s bowling shines again on Sunday, but let’s be honest, India is the favorite for this match.”

He continued, “Cricket fans know that in this format, anything can happen. A single impactful innings or a brilliant bowling spell can completely alter the game's direction.”

Akram advised the Pakistani team to harness their recent success and play with confidence and strategic thinking in the final.

The former fast bowler highlighted that Pakistan could challenge India's middle order if they manage to secure early wickets, particularly targeting openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma.

Gill and Sharma had previously formed a formidable 105-run partnership during the Super 4s clash against Pakistan on September 21.

“If Pakistan can take out Gill and Abhishek early, it could put India on the back foot. I expect a tightly contested match, and may the best team win,” he remarked.

This final in Dubai marks the first-ever India-Pakistan showdown in the 41-year history of the Asia Cup, adding yet another thrilling chapter to the storied rivalry between the two cricketing nations.
