Father of Washington Sundar Voices Concerns

Washington Sundar's father, M. Sundar, has expressed strong criticism towards Indian cricket team's coach Gautam Gambhir and chief selector Ajit Agarkar. His remarks come after Washington's impressive performance in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, where he scored his maiden Test century and played a crucial role in securing a draw for the team.

In an interview with a media outlet, M. Sundar highlighted his son's consistent excellence in performance, lamenting that it often goes unnoticed. He pointed out that while other players receive regular opportunities, Washington has been overlooked. He emphasized that Washington should be batting at the number five position consistently, as he did in the second innings of the fourth Test, and deserves multiple chances ranging from five to ten. It is surprising, he noted, that Washington was not selected for the first Test against England.

It is worth mentioning that Rishabh Pant typically bats at number five for India in Tests, raising questions about the validity of M. Sundar's demands regarding his son's position.
