Sundar's Role in Gujarat Titans

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], April 10: Washington Sundar, despite participating in only one match this IPL season, is still considered a vital asset for the Gujarat Titans (GT), as stated by Colonel Arvinder Singh, the team's Chief Operating Officer.

In his sole appearance, Sundar showcased his batting prowess by scoring 49 runs off 29 deliveries, including five boundaries and two sixes, which significantly contributed to GT's seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, he was absent from the lineup against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and did not play in the initial matches.

Addressing Sundar's situation, Singh expressed confidence in the all-rounder's abilities, suggesting that fans can expect to see more of him in upcoming games. He remarked, “I am confident he will be. He is a quality player with an important role in our team.”

Singh emphasized that team selection is driven by overall strategy rather than individual performances. “It’s not about individuals; it’s about the team. We aim to field the best combination for each game,” he explained.

Reiterating the franchise's faith in Sundar, Singh noted, “He is a talented player who has performed exceptionally well, and we are aware that this tournament is lengthy. You will certainly see Washi in GT colors as the season progresses.”
