ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 Warm-Up Matches Announced
The International Cricket Council has unveiled the schedule for the warm-up matches leading up to the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025. This tournament will feature eight teams preparing for the round-robin phase, with matches set to take place at four venues in Bengaluru and Colombo.
A total of nine day-night matches will occur from September 25 to 28 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 in Bengaluru, as well as at R. Premadasa Stadium and Colombo Cricket Club in Colombo.
On the first day of warm-ups, India, the host nation, will face off against England, the 2017 finalists, at the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1. Concurrently, South Africa will compete against New Zealand at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Additionally, Sri Lanka will take on Pakistan at the Colombo Cricket Club, while Bangladesh will play against a Sri Lanka 'A' team at R. Premadasa Stadium.
Australia, the only team not participating on the first day, will begin their warm-up matches against England at the BCCI Centre of Excellence 1 on September 27, which will also feature two other matches. The final warm-up games are scheduled for September 28.
The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup returns to the sub-continent for the first time in 12 years, taking place from September 30 to November 2 across five venues.
The M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and R. Premadasa Stadium, which will host the warm-up matches, will also be venues for the main tournament, alongside ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, and ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
