Victory at Picklebay Zonals - West


On March 11, Vivin Singh Rana and Sudarshan Dhakne clinched the Intermediate Men’s Doubles championship at the Picklebay Zonals – West, held in Dink, Hinjewadi, Pune. They achieved a decisive win against Aadya Parasnis and Anuj Bhave, finishing the match with a score of 21–10. The pair showcased an impressive performance, effectively managing the game's tempo and taking advantage of their opponents' mistakes.


In a post-match interview with Pickleball Now, Rana discussed their successful strategy. He noted, “We were aware of our opponents' strengths, particularly at the kitchen and during hand battles. Therefore, we concentrated on executing our game plan instead of getting caught up in theirs.” He emphasized that maintaining consistency was crucial in the rally-point format, stating, “In this format, the outcome often hinges on who commits fewer errors. Our aim was to remain consistent throughout the match, and this strategy proved beneficial for us.”


The Picklebay Zonals - West is a five-day tournament featuring a prize pool of Rs 15 lakh and has drawn approximately 700 participants competing in over 25 categories. This event provides players with a chance to earn ranking points while demonstrating their abilities in one of the fastest-growing sports in India.
