Kohli's Surprising Fielding Error

During the intense IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, Virat Kohli, known for his exceptional fielding skills, made an unexpected mistake. He failed to catch a straightforward hit, allowing a boundary at a crucial moment in the game.

This incident occurred in the 19th over, bowled by seasoned pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Positioned on the on-side, Kohli was prepared when Ravindra Jadeja struck a shot that appeared to be heading directly towards him. Despite having sufficient time to adjust, the 36-year-old lost focus and let the ball slip through his grasp.

This costly error resulted in 14 runs, including a six. Bhuvneshwar left Dayal with 15 runs to defend in the final over. Despite some tense moments, including a waist-high no-ball, Dayal maintained his composure, leading RCB to a thrilling two-run victory.

Earlier, CSK's captain MS Dhoni chose to bowl first, a decision that backfired as Kohli and Jacob Bethell dominated the powerplay.

Kohli scored an impressive 62 runs off just 33 balls, bringing his total to 443 runs and making him the Orange Cap holder with 505 runs in IPL 2025. He also formed a solid opening partnership of 97 runs with Bethell in 10.5 overs, with Romario Shepherd providing significant acceleration.

The Caribbean all-rounder smashed 53 runs off only 14 balls, including 33 runs in a single over against Khaleel Ahmed, helping RCB reach a total of 213/5. Shepherd's explosive batting alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni resulted in a formidable 117-run partnership for the fourth wicket. However, CSK's efforts, including a 114-run partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Ayush Mhatre, fell short of the target.
