Kohli's Stellar Performance Captivates Fans

Virat Kohli, the star batter for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), made a spectacular comeback in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), winning the admiration of fans and receiving a touching tribute from IPL icon Dwayne Bravo. Following two consecutive ducks, Kohli's impressive unbeaten 105 runs off 60 balls led RCB to a six-wicket victory over KKR during their IPL 2026 clash on Wednesday at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. In a video posted on RCB's Instagram, Bravo was seen embracing Kohli and encouraging him to continue playing, stating, 'Play as long as possible, the sport needs you.'


Kohli Breaks Multiple Records

In addition to his remarkable performance, Kohli became the first Indian batter to surpass 14,000 runs in T20 cricket, making him the sixth player globally to reach this milestone. His outstanding century against KKR marked his ninth IPL hundred, showcasing some extraordinary shots. The players ahead of him on the all-time T20 run-scoring list include Chris Gayle (14,562), Kieron Pollard (14,482), Alex Hales (14,449), David Warner (14,284), and Jos Buttler (14,200).


Kohli also set a new record as the fastest player to achieve 14,000 T20 runs, accomplishing this feat in just 409 innings, breaking Chris Gayle's previous record of 423 innings.


With nine centuries in the IPL and one in international T20s, Kohli has become the first Indian to hit 10 centuries in the T20 format. Chris Gayle holds the record for the most T20 centuries with 22, followed by Babar Azam with 13. Both David Warner and Virat Kohli are tied for third place with 10 centuries each.
