Following the IPL final, Kohli was visibly moved, sitting on the field in tears, having achieved a long-desired goal. However, in his post-match comments, he didn't just focus on the IPL triumph; he passionately reiterated his love for Test cricket.

According to Kohli, while winning the World Cup or IPL is remarkable, true respect is earned through achievements in Test cricket. Even after his retirement, he maintains this belief.

He further stated:
