A New Chapter for Virat Kohli

In a heartfelt moment, Virat Kohli was seen in Vrindavan with his wife, Anushka Sharma, just a day after announcing his retirement from Test cricket. Their visit to the sacred town, known for its association with Lord Krishna, quickly gained traction on social media.

During their time in Vrindavan, the couple had the opportunity to meet Sant Premanand Govind Sharan, receiving his blessings.

Kohli shared his decision to retire from Test cricket on Instagram, concluding a remarkable 14-year career where he amassed 9,230 runs across 123 matches, including an impressive 30 centuries and 31 fifties.

This isn't the first time the couple has visited temples; earlier this year, they were seen in Vrindavan seeking blessings from Premanand Ji Maharaj, with photos from that visit also going viral.

In 2023, they made a pilgrimage to the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and previously visited the Neem Karoli Baba ashram in Uttarakhand.

Kohli's retirement comes ahead of a five-match Test series against England, a decision he communicated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Since his Test debut in 2011, Kohli has been a pivotal figure in India's Test cricket resurgence, known for his aggressive leadership and exceptional batting skills that have solidified India's reputation as a strong Test team both domestically and internationally.

He retires as the fourth-most successful Test captain, with 40 victories, trailing behind legends like Graeme Smith, Ricky Ponting, and Steve Waugh.

With 30 Test centuries, Kohli ranks as the fourth-highest Indian run-scorer in this format, following Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, and Sunil Gavaskar. He also holds the record for the most double hundreds by an Indian, with seven, and the highest number of Test centuries by an Indian captain.

Previously, Kohli had announced his retirement from T20I cricket after India's T20 World Cup victory last year. Now, at 36, he will focus solely on One Day Internationals for India.
