Virat Kohli's Dance Moves Go Viral After Quinton de Kock's Dismissal in ODI
Kohli's Celebratory Dance After De Kock's Early Exit
Former Indian cricket captain and renowned batsman Virat Kohli showcased his humorous side with amusing dance moves following the early dismissal of Quinton de Kock during the second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. This match took place on December 3 at the Shaheed Veer Naryanan Singh International Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
After South Africa's captain Temba Bavuma opted to bat first, India set a formidable target by scoring 358 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. This impressive total was bolstered by a significant 195-run partnership for the third wicket between centurions Ruturaj Gaikwad (105) and Virat Kohli (102), along with valuable contributions from KL Rahul (56*) and Ravindra Jadeja (24*).
Currently, India leads the series 1-0 and is looking to secure the series victory in the final match, putting pressure on South Africa to perform.
Kohli's Viral Dance Moves
As South Africa began their chase for 359 runs, openers Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram aimed to establish a solid start. However, the Proteas faced an early challenge when de Kock was dismissed for just 8 runs, leaving the score at 26/1.
The dismissal occurred in the fifth over when de Kock attempted an aggressive shot over midwicket off a delivery from Arshdeep. Unfortunately, he misplayed the shot, resulting in a catch for Washington at mid-on, giving India an early breakthrough.
In response to de Kock's wicket, Kohli celebrated with funny dance moves, which quickly gained traction on social media.
South Africa's Recovery and Markram's Century
Following de Kock's dismissal, South Africa's innings was revitalized by a 101-run partnership between Aiden Markram and captain Temba Bavuma. However, Bavuma was dismissed for 46 runs off 48 balls, leaving the score at 127/2.
Markram then shifted gears, becoming more aggressive and accelerating the scoring rate. He reached his half-century in 52 balls and then completed his century in just 36 balls, putting India under significant pressure.
Markram's innings was a serious threat to the Indian bowling attack as he effectively punished loose deliveries and rotated the strike, keeping the scoreboard moving.
He ultimately scored 110 runs off 98 balls and formed a 70-run partnership with Matthew Breetzke before being dismissed at 197/3, a crucial breakthrough for India provided by Harshit Rana.
