Avneet commented:

"It's really sad. We are so idle that we even track how his like increased her followers by 2 million. It doesn't matter if he liked it or not, or if it was a mistake. Accidental unfollows happen all the time on Instagram. It's unfortunate that just because he is a celebrity, his preferences become news."

Kohli Clarifies the Situation

Kohli's Instagram account had liked a post from a fan page dedicated to Avneet Kaur. Although the like was later removed, many users had already taken screenshots and shared them widely. Kohli subsequently posted a message clarifying that the like was unintentional and urged people not to overanalyze the situation. Despite his clarification, discussions continued.
