Kohli, who announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this year, was enjoying the matches in England, where the Indian cricket team is engaged in a five-match Test series against England. When asked about his preferred winner for Wimbledon, Kohli expressed his support for Novak Djokovic, stating that he believes Djokovic deserves to win the title.

Despite initially struggling, Djokovic showcased his resilience by winning the match with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, completing the contest in three hours and 18 minutes. This victory marked Djokovic's 16th quarterfinal appearance at Wimbledon.
