Kohli Achieves Milestone in IPL Match

Mumbai: On Monday, Virat Kohli etched his name in cricket history by becoming the first Indian player to surpass 13,000 runs in T20 cricket during a match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians.
Kohli achieved this remarkable milestone with his second half-century of the IPL season, making him the fifth player globally to reach 13,000 runs in this fast-paced format.
The right-handed batting sensation accomplished this feat in just over 400 matches throughout his career.
After leading India to their second T20 World Cup victory in the Americas last year, Kohli announced his retirement from T20 Internationals, having played 125 matches and amassed 4,188 runs, including one century and 38 fifties, with an impressive average of 48.69 and a strike rate of 137.04.
He currently ranks as the third-highest run-scorer in T20Is, trailing only Rohit Sharma (4,231 runs) and Pakistan's Babar Azam (4,223 runs).
Rohit Sharma holds the second position in overall T20 cricket run-scorers with 11,851 runs from 451 matches.
Before the IPL match on Monday, Kohli had accumulated 12,983 runs, featuring nine centuries and 98 fifties, with an average of 38.93 and a strike rate exceeding 132.
The IPL season opener against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23 marked Kohli's 400th game in the T20 format.
Chris Gayle tops the list of all-time T20 run-scorers with 14,562 runs in 463 matches, followed by Alex Hales with 13,610 runs, Shoaib Malik with 13,557 runs in 555 matches, and Kieron Pollard with 13,537 runs in 695 matches.
