Virat Kohli Celebrates RCB's Historic IPL Win with Heartfelt Message to Phil Salt
Kohli's Touching Tribute to Salt After IPL Victory
Virat Kohli shared a heartfelt message for his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammate Phil Salt following RCB's historic first IPL title win against Punjab Kings on Tuesday. Salt had just returned to India after traveling home for the birth of his child, making his contribution to the team's success even more significant.
In the wake of this emotional victory, Kohli took to Instagram to acknowledge Salt's efforts, delivering a mix of humor and warmth as he referenced Salt's new role as a father.
“Well done, partner. Now go back to the real stuff and get ready for changing diapers,” Kohli wrote, alongside a photo of the two celebrating with the IPL trophy.
The partnership between Kohli and Salt proved to be one of the most effective in the tournament, with the duo accumulating 664 runs at an impressive average of 47.42. Kohli topped the scoring charts with 657 runs, while Salt contributed 387 runs, playing a crucial role in several matches.
Due to a significant break between Qualifier One and the final, Salt had traveled to England to support his wife during childbirth, returning to India just in time for the match, showcasing his commitment to the team.

Salt Reflects on Memorable 48 Hours
While Salt has not officially confirmed his attendance at the celebrations in Bengaluru, he took to social media to commemorate the occasion. He shared a post that captured the vibrant atmosphere of RCB's title celebrations, accompanied by a heartfelt message and behind-the-scenes photos.
“48 hours that will live long in the memory.”
Among the images he posted was a custom RCB jersey emblazoned with the word “Champions” and the name “Salt Jr.”, a touching nod to his newborn child. It remains unclear if the England player will join the victory parade scheduled for this afternoon in Bengaluru.
RCB is set to meet the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Wednesday upon their arrival in Bengaluru, followed by a celebratory bus parade to the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
