In an interview with JioStar, Kohli discussed the difficulties of competing in international conditions, noting that maintaining high performance throughout the tournament demands considerable physical and mental stamina. He stated, "It's in foreign conditions, which takes a toll. This will be my last World Cup for India, and that drives me to leave everything on the field." The tournament is set to take place in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia from October 4 to November 21, 2027.
Kohli's World Cup Journey
Kohli has participated in two ODI World Cup finals, in 2011 and 2023, both hosted in India. He celebrated victory in 2011 but faced disappointment against Australia in the 2023 final.

Preparations for 2027
India is now focusing on 50-over cricket, with the ODI series against West Indies serving as part of their preparations for the 2027 World Cup. They will play five ODIs in New Zealand and three against Sri Lanka later this year, followed by three ODIs against Zimbabwe at the beginning of 2027.
