The Indian contingent concluded the tournament with a total of 11 medals, comprising three gold, five silver, and three bronze. A ceremony was held on Thursday to honor the medalists from both the Kazakhstan and Brazil editions of the World Boxing Cup. The Brazil event took place from March 31 to April 5, while the Astana competition was held from June 30 to July 7.

Commenting on the team's achievements, Vijender Singh stated, "The performance of our boxing team has been outstanding. I extend my gratitude to the Federation, particularly to Ajay Singh, who is always available whenever I reach out. His efforts in organizing this felicitation event are commendable. I also want to acknowledge our talented boys and girls who have excelled on the international stage. Winning 17 medals is a significant accomplishment, and I appreciate everyone involved in this success."

At the event, the Boxing Federation of India (BFI) announced a total prize purse of Rs 17.5 lakh to reward the 17 Indian boxers who secured medals at the recent World Boxing Cup events in Brazil and Kazakhstan.

Gold medalists will receive Rs 2 lakh each, silver medalists Rs 1 lakh, and bronze winners Rs 50,000, as India gears up for the World Boxing Cup Finals scheduled to take place in New Delhi later this year.

This announcement coincides with the national core group of boxers undergoing rigorous training at the Patiala camp in preparation for two major international competitions: the World Boxing Championships in Liverpool in September and the World Boxing Cup Finals on home turf. Additionally, the BFI is exploring a strategic partnership with China, which may include joint training camps and sparring exchanges across junior, sub-junior, and elite levels.
