Le Xuan Duc's Remarkable Performance

Le Xuan Duc, an 18-year-old athlete from Vietnam, showcased his talent by winning four consecutive matches in a single day at the Singapore Open, achieving this feat without losing a single game. Despite entering the tournament unseeded, Duc had to navigate through the qualifying rounds to reach the main draw.

On July 23, Duc began his journey by defeating Hoang Nguyen Anh with scores of 6-11, 11-7, and 11-3 in the Round of 16 of the qualifiers. He then moved on to beat Josh Barber 11-9, 11-5 in the quarterfinals, followed by a victory over Nguyen Hung Anh in the semifinals, securing his place in the main event.

Later that same day, Duc faced Hsieh Chen-An from Chinese Taipei in the Round of 32, where he dominated the match, winning 11-4, 11-0, with a flawless second game.

However, his impressive run came to a halt the following morning, July 24, when he encountered eighth seed Marco Leung in the Round of 16. Duc lost the first game 11-4 but rallied to win the second game 11-6, pushing the match to a deciding game. Ultimately, Leung secured the match with an 11-4 win in the third game, ending Duc's remarkable streak.

While it is common for qualifiers to lose to seeded players, Duc's ability to take a game off a higher-ranked opponent demonstrates his potential. This performance indicates that he is capable of competing at a high level, even against more experienced players.

The next challenge for Duc will be to maintain this level of performance in upcoming tournaments and transform his impressive day in Singapore into a sustained success.
