Vietnam to Host the Third Edition of the Pickleball World Cup

The upcoming Pickleball World Cup will take place in Da Nang, Vietnam, from August 30 to September 6, marking the first time this prestigious tournament is being held in the country. Vietnam has emerged as a vibrant center for pickleball, making it an ideal venue for this global event.
With a burgeoning community and numerous players, Vietnam is quickly establishing itself as a notable force in the sport. Athletes like Quang Duong and Phuc Huynh are leading this charge, enhancing the nation's visibility on the world stage. Da Nang is expected to provide a perfect setting for this year's World Cup.
On social media, the Pickleball World Cup expressed excitement about bringing the event to Asia for the first time, stating, "A new chapter begins. A new stage is set. A new energy rises from the heart of Asia." The tournament has gained popularity since its first edition in Lima in 2024, followed by the second in Fort Lauderdale in 2025, with increasing participation from various nations.
India made its debut in the competition in 2025, under the Indian Pickleball Association, achieving remarkable success with 25 medals, including eight golds, eight silvers, and nine bronzes, making it the only Asian nation in the top 10.
Vietnam's growth in pickleball is further supported by impressive statistics. A report from the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) revealed a staggering 184 percent growth in 2025, showcasing the sport's rapid rise in popularity.
The country's pickleball calendar is also bustling, with the MB Hanoi Cup scheduled from April 1 to 5, kicking off the PPA Tour Asia season. This will be followed by the Ho Chi Minh City Open, emphasizing Vietnam's increasing significance in the international pickleball scene. The 2026 PPA Tour Asia season will feature 10 tournaments, culminating in the Hong Kong Slam in October, solidifying Vietnam's status as a global pickleball powerhouse.
