Venkatesh Prasad Assumes Presidency, New CAC Formed

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has appointed former Indian fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad as its new president. In conjunction with this appointment, a Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has been established, featuring notable former Indian bowlers such as Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, and Sunil Joshi.

Election Outcomes at KSCA

On Sunday, Venkatesh Prasad was elected as the President of KSCA. Sujith Somasunder, another former cricketer, has been elected as Vice-President, while Santosh Menon returns as Secretary, a role he previously held from 2019 to 2022. Prasad triumphed over K N Shanta Kumar by a margin of 191 votes, securing 749 votes compared to Shanta Kumar's 558. Additionally, BK Ravi was elected as Joint Secretary with 669 votes, and BN Madhukar won the Treasurer position against MS Vinay with 736 votes. Prasad has a history with KSCA, having served as Vice President from 2010 to 2013 and has played 33 Tests and 161 ODIs for India.

Formation of New Committees and Selection Panels

According to a KSCA statement, the newly elected Managing Committee, led by Venkatesh Prasad, has formed the Cricket Advisory Committee, which includes distinguished members such as: - Anil Kumble - Javagal Srinath - Sunil Joshi - Vijay Bharadwaj - Jayshree Doraiswamy. In their inaugural meeting, the CAC proposed recommendations for the Selection Panels for the current season, which have been approved by the Managing Committee. The Selection Panels are structured as follows:

Senior & Under-23 Men’s Selection Panel

- Chairman: Amit Verma - S. Prakash - Tejpal Kothari - Sunil Raju

Junior Men’s Selection Panel (Under-19 / Under-16 / Under-14)

- G. K. Anil Kumar - C. Raghavendra - G. N. Umesh - D. S. Ananth

Coaching Changes and Women's Selection Committee

In the under-23 men's cricket coaching staff, Ganesh Satish has taken over from Somashekar Siruguppi, while Deepak Chougule replaces SR Deepu. The Women's Selection Committee is currently under evaluation, with decisions expected to be made soon.

Official Spokesperson Designated

During the Managing Committee meeting, Vinay Mruthyunjaya, the former Treasurer of KSCA, was appointed as the Official Spokesperson and Chairman of Public & Member Relations.
