Varun Aaron's New Role in IPL

Former Indian fast bowler Varun Aaron was providing commentary during the ongoing third Test match between India and England at Lord's when he received exciting news regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL). Although he will not be playing in the next season, he has been appointed as the bowling coach for a team. Sunrisers Hyderabad has announced Varun Aaron as their new bowling coach ahead of the IPL 2026 season.




Sunrisers Hyderabad, the champions of the 2016 IPL season, shared the news on their official X account, stating, 'We have made a fantastic addition to our coaching staff. Welcome Varun Aaron as our new bowling coach.'




Throughout his IPL career, Varun Aaron has been part of five different teams. Interestingly, he has been brought into the coaching staff of a team for which he has never played. His IPL journey includes stints with Kings XI Punjab, Rajasthan Royals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Daredevils, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Additionally, Varun has represented India in 9 Test matches and 9 One Day Internationals.
