Vaidehee Chaudhari and Maan Kesharwani Triumph at Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship
Championship Overview
At the DLTA Complex in New Delhi, top seed Vaidehee Chaudhari and sixth seed Maan Kesharwani emerged victorious in the women's and men's singles categories, respectively, during the 31st Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship held on Saturday.
Women's Singles Final
Chaudhari, who previously secured titles in 2022 and 2024, faced off against 20-year-old Shruti Ahlawat. The match was fiercely contested, lasting two hours and 15 minutes, with Chaudhari winning 6-4, 7-5 to claim her third Fenesta Open title.
Expressing her joy post-match, Chaudhari stated, "I feel so proud. This is my third title, so I am very happy right now. The first set I was 5-3 up, and she kept fighting. Even in the second set, I was 5-3 up, and she continued to battle until the end. It was a great and close match."
Men's Singles Final
In the men's singles final, Kesharwani triumphed over third seed Nitin Sinha with a score of 6-0, 6-4 in one hour and 37 minutes, marking his first Fenesta Open title. Kesharwani dominated the first set, winning all six games without conceding any.
He remarked, "The first set was easy. But I will congratulate my opponent. He is a little bit injured but still competing. I am proud of him. The second set was a bit shaky, but I broke him at 3-2 and held my serves to win. This is my first Fenesta title, and I am very emotional. I want to thank my parents for their unwavering support."
Presentation Ceremony Highlights
The trophy presentation was graced by notable figures including Rohit Rajpal, president of the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association; Saket Jain, Executive Director and Business Head of Fenesta Building Systems; Indian hockey player Jugraj Singh; and Prerna Bhambri, a four-time Fenesta Open champion.
Singh expressed his excitement, stating, "This is my first time watching a live match of the Tennis Nationals. I was impressed by the players' movements and skills. Good luck to all the winners and participants."
Jain emphasized DCM Shriram's long-standing commitment to Indian tennis, stating, "Our association with the Fenesta Open spans over three decades, focusing on nurturing talent and providing players with opportunities to grow in their careers. This year, we are introducing an Rs 11 lakh Player Development Scholarship to support winners and runners-up in their future endeavors."
U-18 Singles Finals
In the boys' U-18 singles final, 16-year-old Ribhav Saroha, seeded 10th, defeated fourth seed Om Ramesh Patel with a score of 6-4, 6-3. Saroha shared his strategy, saying, "I knew I had to be consistent and aggressive to win against Om, who doesn't miss many balls. Winning this title feels like a dream, especially at such a prestigious event."
In the girls' U-18 singles final, second seed Parthsarthi Mundhe overcame seventh seed Aahan Aahan with a score of 6-3, 6-4. Mundhe reflected on her experience, stating, "This tournament has been a great experience for me, especially since it was my first competition after five months."

The focus will now shift to the Fenesta Open U-16 and U-14 events, set to commence next week at the DLTA.
