Vaibhav Suryavanshi Receives Prestigious Award

Today, in New Delhi, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was awarded the Prime Minister's National Child Award by President Droupadi Murmu. The 14-year-old cricketer received this esteemed honor, which is the highest civilian award for children aged 5 to 18, recognizing exceptional achievements in bravery, arts and culture, environmental efforts, innovation, science and technology, social service, and sports. The ceremony took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which meant that Vaibhav missed watching Bihar's Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Manipur.



Reports indicate that Vaibhav was requested to arrive at the Rashtrapati Bhavan by 7 AM for the ceremony, where 19 other children were also honored for their contributions in various fields. The President remarked, "Your achievements inspire the entire nation. Each child honored today is equally important and valuable. It is because of such talented children that India continues to shine on the global stage."


The President further emphasized that the extraordinary talents displayed by these children span various domains, including bravery, arts and culture, environmental initiatives, innovation, science and technology, social service, and sports. She acknowledged the commendable work done by all the children, stating that due to time constraints, she could only mention a few names, but each child honored today holds equal significance and respect.


In her speech during the award ceremony, Droupadi Murmu highlighted that it is such talented children who are helping India gain recognition in the field of chess, marking a proud moment for the nation. She also expressed heartfelt condolences to the parents of the honored children, praying for the peace of departed souls, noting that their bravery will continue to inspire children across the country.
