Vaibhav Suryavanshi Celebrated After Stellar IPL Debut Season
Hero's Welcome for Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Teenage cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi received an enthusiastic reception upon his return home following an impressive debut season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
The 14-year-old, who became a significant highlight of the season, was celebrated on May 22, with the Rajasthan Royals sharing footage of the joyous occasion on social media. The video showcased him cutting a cake while surrounded by cheering family members.
Vaibhav made history this season by becoming the youngest player to score a century in men's T20 cricket. He achieved this remarkable feat by scoring 101 runs off just 38 balls against the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur, marking him as the second-fastest centurion in IPL history.
He made his IPL debut against the Lucknow Super Giants, stepping in for the injured Sanju Samson and hitting a six on his very first ball.
The young talent from Bihar was only 13 when he was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for INR 1.1 crore during the IPL 2025 auction, making him the youngest player to secure an IPL contract.
Before his IPL success, he had already made a name for himself in India's Under-19 team, scoring a century off 58 balls against Australia U-19 and accumulating 176 runs in the 2024 U-19 Asia Cup. In IPL 2025, he concluded the season with 252 runs from seven matches, boasting an impressive strike rate of 206.55.
