Uttarakhand's Participation in Khelo Masters National Championship
On April 9, New Delhi witnessed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially send off the state’s team from his Camp Office for the upcoming fourth Khelo Masters National Championship, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from April 11 to April 13.
This championship will showcase a variety of sports, including athletics, football, basketball, hockey, shooting, badminton, table tennis, and volleyball. The Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt wishes to all athletes participating in this prestigious event.
He highlighted the extensive initiatives undertaken nationwide to enhance sports under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting significant advancements in sports infrastructure. The Prime Minister is a constant source of motivation for athletes, as stated in a recent release.

Dhami mentioned that the new sports policy aims to provide comprehensive support to athletes, thereby fostering sports development in Uttarakhand. The state achieved a commendable seventh place in the national games held there, establishing its reputation as a sports hub.
Under the guidance of Dr. Virendra Singh Rawat, Vice President of the Khelo Masters Games Foundation of Uttarakhand, a team of players will represent the state in this year's Masters National Games.
The Uttarakhand football team comprises athletes from three age categories: above 40, 50, and 60. In athletics, competitors from the above-40 and above-70 age groups will also participate in the Khelo Masters National Games 2025.
Present at the event were notable figures such as Prem Singh Bisht, patron of the Khelo Masters Games Foundation of Uttarakhand, along with P C Khantwal, Subhash Arora, Vimal Singh Rawat, Sunil Sharma, Aneesh Sharma, Vinesh Rana, Sharad Agarwal, Surendra Singh Rawat, Chatresh Kumar, and Prem Prakash Purohit, among other athletes.
The Khelo Masters Games Foundation, established in 2018, aims to raise awareness about the health benefits and overall wellness associated with sports participation in society.
