During the IPL match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 10, Urvil Patel of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) expressed his emotions after achieving his first fifty in the tournament.
CSK bolstered their playoff aspirations with a crucial six-wicket victory, marking their sixth win of the season. Chasing a target of 204 runs, the team successfully completed the chase in 19.2 overs, finishing with four balls to spare. Urvil Patel was the standout performer, scoring an impressive 65 runs off just 23 deliveries, which included 8 sixes and 2 fours. He also partnered with Ruturaj Gaikwad, who contributed 42 runs, in a significant 81-run partnership for the second wicket.
Other key contributions came from Sanju Samson (28), Shivam Dube (18*), and Prashant Veer (15), all of whom played vital roles in maintaining the required run rate. The match concluded with an important unbeaten 34-run partnership between Dube and Veer, securing the win for the five-time IPL champions.

Upon reaching his maiden fifty, Urvil folded his hands in gratitude and revealed a note from his pocket, displaying it to the crowd. The note read, 'This is for you, Papa,' along with a line in Gujarati that honored his father's sacrifices throughout his cricketing journey.

The image of Urvil holding the note high became viral, symbolizing his gratitude towards his father, whose dreams were fulfilled through his son's achievements.
CSK Eliminates LSG from Playoff Contention
With this victory, Chennai Super Kings improved their playoff chances, moving up to fifth place with six wins in eleven matches. In contrast, Lucknow Super Giants faced a setback, continuing their struggle for form and effectively falling out of the playoff race.
Entering the match with only three wins from ten games, LSG was at the bottom of the points table and could not afford any losses. However, the defeat against CSK has significantly diminished their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
