During a match on Sunday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player reached his fifty in just 13 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

While CSK pursued a target of 204 runs, Urvil delivered a remarkable performance, scoring 65 runs off 23 balls, which included eight sixes and two fours. He secured his fifty with a six on the final ball of the seventh over.

After achieving his fifty, Urvil revealed a note from his pocket that read, 'This is for you Papa.'


Record-Equalling Knock

With this achievement, Urvil Patel joins Yashasvi Jaiswal, who set the record for the fastest fifty in IPL history during the 2023 season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Urvil entered the game after CSK lost their opener, Sanju Samson, in the fourth over. He began his innings with a single and then unleashed a series of three consecutive sixes off Avesh Khan's bowling.
