In a thrilling display at the Senior National badminton championships, seasoned players Shruti Mundada and Parul Choudhary, along with emerging talent Tanvi Patri, triumphed over higher-seeded competitors to secure their spots in the women's singles pre-quarterfinals. Shruti dominated seventh seed Jiya Rawat with a score of 21-14, 21-9, while Parul overcame ninth seed with a comeback victory of 18-21, 21-18, 21-12. Additionally, Tanvi Patri eliminated eighth seed Isharani Baruah, winning 22-20, 21-19.

Advancements in Women's Singles

Other players progressing to the next stage include top seed Unnati Hooda, second seed Anupama Upadhyaya, third seed Anmol Kharb, and world junior silver medallist Tanvi Sharma.

Men's Singles Upsets

In the men's singles category, Aryaman Tandon caused a stir by defeating third seed M Raghu with scores of 17-21, 21-11, 21-14 in the round of 32. Both Abhinav Garg and Rithvik Sanjeevi S also pulled off significant upsets, with Garg overcoming tenth seed Abhinav Thakur 21-19, 21-16, and Rithvik besting thirteenth seed Orijit Chaliha 21-15, 21-19.

Mixed Doubles Upset

In the mixed doubles event, Nitin Kumar and Kanika Kanwal surprised the sixth seeds Kevin Wong CC and Pranavi N, winning 23-21, 21-15.
