Surge in Ticket Applications

The ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 has seen an overwhelming demand for tickets, with applications exceeding one million within just three days of the ballot opening on October 1.


More than 320,000 cricket enthusiasts have registered for the ballot, submitting requests for matches across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia, as excitement builds for this prestigious tournament.


Top Matches Generating Interest

The highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan on October 10 is leading the ticket requests, with over 100,000 applications received. Following closely is the South Africa vs India match, which has garnered more than 86,000 requests, while the India vs Australia clash has attracted over 80,000 applications.


Additionally, the Super 7 match featuring India (A1) against Pakistan (A3) on November 7 has received nearly 75,000 applications, making it the fourth most sought-after match. The final scheduled for November 21 is also popular, with almost 65,000 applications submitted.


Tournament Overview and Ticket Pricing

The tournament will showcase 14 of the world's top cricket teams, commencing on October 2 and culminating with the final on November 21.


To accommodate fans globally, the ICC has launched a ticket ballot, allowing enthusiasts to register for a chance to attend. Ticket prices range from USD 9.62 (R158) for basic entry to USD 31.31 (R514) for premium matches. Special pricing options are available for families, students, pensioners, and community groups.

Sanjog Gupta, the ICC CEO, remarked, "The receipt of one million ticket applications in just over 48 hours showcases the significance and global appeal of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027. These events transcend cultural and geographical boundaries, enhancing the sport's fanbase."

Fans have until 23:59 (CAT) on November 21 to register for the ballot and choose their preferred matches at tickets.cricketworldcup.com.


Group Stage and Key Matches

The 12 teams confirmed for the Group Stage are divided into two groups of six. Group A includes India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, and Qualifier A, while Group B consists of New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England, Bangladesh, and Qualifier B.


The Group Stage kicks off on October 7, with India facing Australia in a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final in Cape Town. South Africa will launch their campaign against New Zealand in Cape Town on October 9, while co-host Zimbabwe will compete against Qualifier A in Bulawayo on the same day.
