Inglewood [US], June 13: Ahead of their opening match against Paraguay in the FIFA World Cup, US President Donald Trump reached out to extend his best wishes to the national football team.
The US football team's official X account shared a video featuring manager Mauricio Pochettino receiving a phone call from Trump. The post read, 'Last night, we received a message of support from POTUS ahead of our World Cup journey.'
During the call, Trump praised Pochettino, stating, 'I just wanted to say you are a fantastic guy and an excellent coach. I’m aware of your impressive record and success. I believe you have a strong chance of going all the way. Best of luck to you.'
Pochettino expressed his gratitude and assured Trump that the team would strive to make the nation proud with their performances.
