ACB's Heartfelt Condemnation of Violence
New Delhi: The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has expressed profound sorrow and condemnation following a devastating airstrike by Pakistan on a significant addiction treatment facility in Kabul, which resulted in over 400 fatalities and left at least 250 individuals injured, according to reports from Taliban officials and local media. This incident is poised to be one of the most catastrophic in the history of the Afghan capital.
In a heartfelt message shared on X, the ACB stated, “Eid Hopes Turned Into Mourning. The leadership of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, alongside the #AfghanAtalan team and staff, vehemently denounces all forms of violence against innocent civilians. We extend our solidarity to the bereaved families and our community during this challenging period. What should have been a time of joy and celebration has turned into profound sorrow and heartbreak. Lives that were anticipating Eid, healing, and a hopeful future have been tragically extinguished, leaving behind shattered dreams and mourning families.”

In their condemnation of the airstrike, the ACB remarked, “The tragic assault by the Pakistani regime on a rehabilitation center, leading to the loss of hundreds of innocent lives and injuring many others, has left us all deeply saddened. The occurrence of such a tragedy during Ramadan amplifies the pain we feel.”
The board concluded their statement with prayers for the victims and their families, saying, “We implore Almighty Allah to elevate the victims to the highest ranks in Jannah and to bestow patience, strength, and peace upon their families. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.”
Earlier, Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan also condemned the civilian casualties resulting from the recent airstrikes, labeling the targeting of civilian infrastructure as a “war crime” and calling for international organizations to investigate the incident.
In a post on X, the Afghan cricketer expressed his deep sorrow over the reports of civilian deaths in the strikes, which local officials claim targeted a major addiction treatment hospital in Kabul.
