The Players' Management Committee of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) has confirmed the addition of Bangladesh's Towhid Hridoy to the Jaffna Kings roster for the current season. Hridoy steps in for Taskin Ahmed, who is unable to participate due to unavailability, as stated in a press release from the franchise.

Anil Mohan Sankhdhar, the founder and CEO of IPG Group, which holds the official rights for the Lanka Premier League, expressed his excitement about Hridoy's inclusion. Hridoy's Impressive Performance Record
Towhid Hridoy, a right-handed batsman, boasts an impressive record in T20 cricket, amassing 4,057 runs in 168 matches with an average of 30.73, which includes two centuries. He is recognized as one of Bangladesh's most reliable white-ball players and arrives in excellent form, having delivered several key performances in 2026. Notable innings include an unbeaten 51 off 27 balls against New Zealand and a solid 61 against Australia. Additionally, he has been leading the Bangladesh team with confidence since taking on the role of T20I captain.
