Women's Singles: Leading Players Progress

In the women's singles category of the 87th Senior National Badminton Championships held in Vijayawada, top seed Unnati Hooda, along with world junior championships silver medalist Tanvi Sharma, seasoned player Aakarshi Kashyap, and promising junior Rounak Chauhan, achieved impressive victories to move forward in the tournament. Unnati, who received a bye in the initial round, decisively defeated wildcard competitor Akanksha Matte with scores of 21-8, 21-18. Tanvi kicked off her tournament with a solid 21-10, 21-14 win against Asian U-15 girls singles gold medalist Shaina Manimuthu, according to a statement from the Badminton Association of India (BAI).


Men's Singles: Seeded Players Triumph

In the men's singles matches, 11th seed Chauhan triumphed over Ranveer Singh with a score of 21-9, 21-13. Meanwhile, 12th seed D S Saneeth secured his place in the next round by defeating Ankit Mondal 21-7, 21-11. Additionally, 16th seed and Guwahati Masters Super 100 champion Sanskar Saraswat commenced his campaign successfully, winning against Shikhar Rallan with scores of 21-11, 21-13.
