RCB Faces Challenge as Tim David is Benched

In a crucial match today, the Royal Challengers are vying for a spot in the top two of the IPL standings. Unfortunately, they will have to do so without their key run-scorer, Tim David, who has been sidelined due to injury. The primary reason for his absence is a hamstring issue that has led to his exclusion from the playing XI.

David sustained this injury while fielding during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 23, which RCB ultimately lost.

Throughout his IPL career, Tim David has participated in 50 matches across two teams: the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. In 44 innings, he has amassed 846 runs, boasting an average of 32.53 and an impressive strike rate of 173.36, highlighting his prowess as a powerful finisher. Although he has yet to score a century, he has achieved one half-century, with his highest score being an unbeaten 50.

His aggressive batting style is evident from his tally of 54 fours and 60 sixes, showcasing his impact in the lower middle order. Additionally, he has made contributions in the field, securing 29 catches.

In the 2025 IPL season, Tim David made a comeback to RCB, playing in 12 matches and batting in 9 innings.
