The IPL found that the Australian cricketer breached Article 2.6 of the Code of Conduct, which addresses 'using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting.' Such Level 1 violations can lead to fines and demerit points, with the player's acceptance of the sanctions being final.


The league noted that David acknowledged his wrongdoing and accepted the penalty imposed by match referee Amit Sharma.
