Indian cricketer Tilak Varma has a strong affinity for longer formats of the game and is currently seeking advice from Virat Kohli regarding fitness and running between the wickets to maximize his upcoming opportunities. At just 23 years old, Varma has played only four One Day Internationals (ODIs) so far and is eagerly awaiting his chance to join the Test squad. He expressed that the presence of seasoned players like Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the current ODI series has significantly boosted his confidence.

In an interview with 'JioStar', Tilak shared, "Both ODI and Test cricket suit my style of play, and I enjoy them immensely. I am excited to play more ODIs. When Rohit Bhai and Virat Bhai are in the same team, the level of confidence is entirely different." He praised Rohit and Kohli for their vast experience and knowledge, stating, "I try to seek as much advice from them as possible to improve my game."

"I talk to Virat Bhai quite often, especially about fitness and running between the wickets. I enjoy running, and I believe I am quite fast in this regard," he noted. Regarding the ongoing ODI series against South Africa, Tilak expressed his desire to perform at his best whenever he gets the chance, stating, "I want to prove myself in both ODIs and Tests."
